Ka's discography is amazing, how he can pull you into the feel of the theme he's using.

I used to feel like he was the thug it through the snow mid level corner boy/hustler/soldier duality to Marci's "It's turning cold let's head to Belize for the winter" King of Kingpins where the only fictional folks on his level are Hov, Ross and Pusha T.

But really...... Ka is almost like watching a eternal soldier being reincarnated into different eras, thugging it out to the best of his overly intelligent ability each time. Like reading/watching the same character dropped into different times.

Ka with the storytelling refrences (Chess, Samurais, Manchurian Candidate, the oddessy)

Pain, loss, regret and survival. With gems and happiness sprinkled throughout.

Truly one of the best hip hop writers ever.

Finished my first listen :ohlawd:

This is grown man music. Definitely gonna require repeated listens. Ka gives you a sense of isolation where you zone out and pay close attention to every word. Not a single song I wasn't feeling.

This is why short albums work so well. You can listen all the way through every time without skipping songs and get the full experience.

Official first video from the album

@IronFist would be good to add to your OG post

Beautiful :wow:

I love when rappers take art seriously. Not just the music but the presentation is on point. I love the name Hermit and the Recluse, Orpheus vs the Sirens. Love the album cover. When everything comes together like that it feels like you're getting a masterpiece.

Yeah I tell folks that you can do almost anything to music.

Ride to it, dance to it, clean to it, cook to it, nod your head to it, fukk to it, whatever etc....

But listening to Ka is like reading a book.

You can't read a good book and do something else with your mind at the same time. Everything else is background noise that may pull you out of that experience if it's too loud.

Either you're reading, or you're not.

EXACTLY why I'm not even going to do this a disservice and half listen right now. This man demands your undivided attention.
