I'll give more thoughts later. I thought the social commentary is good convo starters, particularly to teenagers. They got a book club at the school i work at and kids reading it. So I had to check it out.
Camera work was dope to me. Dude who directed this gets much props. From close ups to the riot scenes. My issue is some of the hood stuff. Without spoiling it this movie would have been over with real quick in real life. The stuff that certain allowed would not be tolerated in real life. It would have been a star alright...a shooting star. It really got ridiculous at the end. Now, it doesnt bother me as much because it's a teen movie. Just like 13 Reasons. You get its gonna be ridiculous
And I like how they went in on white liberals. Reminded me of Get Out in that sense. I got more but I'll wait

My only issue is the ending with regards to who is the real antagonist.

Amandla Stenberg got the juice.

I just saw it this weekend myself, I'm pleasantly surprised. On the real, there's a I guess 'B' list black actor that played her father. He stole a few scenes in the film, I would go as far as nominating him for something. He really deserves credit along with Amandla Stenberg 'Joy' , her brother 'Seven', as well as her boisterous friend at the school. All did quite well, the film sucks you in and there's a few climactic moments right down to the end. Heavy movie.

This was better then i expected but got a bit stupid towards the end....(Think the wave brush scene with the cop could've been done different too)

Maybe she could've dropped her phone on his side of the car & he tries to help her get itso she can record again....
