I like how we are just going to ignore that that he has a history of domestic violence. She just pointing out the facts. Some of you are gay for Mayweather, and can't admit he's not a good guy.

Some of us just enjoy watching him box...alot of boxers are not "good" guys...If i watched sports based on whos a good guy id probably take up basket weaving instead like you....

I dont get the 'yall are ignoring' shyt...nobody has ignored it,it was front page news and talked about everywhere including here....He went to prison and did his time that the feds gave him, thats where it ends for me :manny:

She wrote this same piece in September too ... seems a bit overkill

http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/11507792/why-never-buy-floyd-mayweather-fight-again

Also bascially wrote the same piece when the Bears signed Ray MacDonald

http://espn.go.com/espnw/news-commentary/article/12555187/talk-straight-fans

Dudes this is what you call a hit piece. ESPN knows the dude beats women but will invite him on first take or give him that bull shyt yearly award espy shyt. ESPN and their employees like to play both sides of the fence.

This the same network that had its employed hoes bring up the bull shyt phrase about how rap music was destroying America whenever an athlete got in trouble. But would then have Lil Wayne or some so called gangsta rapper on first take. Or some rapper with parental advisor all on their CD.....music be played on an ESPN segment. Or an ESPN personality saying a rappers rhymes on a highlight segment.

Last this the same got damn network that will crucify an athlete that says fakkit or something against gays. But will have Eminem do the music for college football (even with his history with the word fakkit) and a month after he releases his new album with the song rap god while he is saying fakkit every other word on the song.

Just hypocrisy all around. ESPN isn't worth the time nor are their articles worth picking up dog shyt with.

Let us not forget also that ESPN creates a article to criticize a black athlete. Then when something important happens with that athlete they rehash all the info again or repost old articles.

If you don't believe just look at that Ray Lewis shyt during the Ravens last Superbowl run. It was total bull shyt. ESPN hadn't given a shyt about that case for 10 years and all of a sudden they cared. And not only that they turned around in the off season and employed Ray Lewis.

Man y'all got to stop falling for that shyt with ESPN. Them fukkers do not care as long as it gets clicks and ratings.

Him being whatever is irrelevant to May 2nd, add to the fact he served his time for the offenses he committed

I hate how they're making this good vs bad as if Manny is some angel

Floyd be on his ignorant/c00n ish sometimes, but i could careless what these dudes have going on outside the ring.

The combo of being Great/Rich and arrogant drives them crazy about Floyd

Exactly. Here is the thing is sports media the narritive is only two things for black athletes. Either they are humble and nice, happy go lucky and love to play or they are a thug. Them the only boxes that the white media puts black athletes. They don't know how else to categories them.

Also a black villian gets more clicks and viewership than anything else. ESPN made more money with Tiger and Lebron being villians than they ever made with them being heros.

A black villian will make a network or company more money than even a white hero. Now let that marinate for a minute.

And that tells you why mayweather is so rich playing the black villian. Cause the man would be broke as fukk playing a black american hero.

Longtime HBO Boxing play-by-play announcer Jim Lampley was arrested late last week and charged with domestic abuse. The 57-year-old Lampley now faces a felony charge of domestic abuse/corporal injury and two misdemeanor counts of violating a restraining order and dissuading a witness.

San Diego County Sheriff’s Captain Glenn Revell told the Associated Press, “The circumstances are that there was an altercation between Mr. Lampley and a 28-year-old female with whom he reportedly has a dating relationship.”

The woman in question is 28-year-old Candice Sanders, who won the Miss California USA pageant in 2003. Sanders alleges multiple cases of assault and further claimed that Lampley was drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana prior to the most recent incident, which was allegedly witnessed by Lampley’s 14-year-old son.

Lampley was released from police custody after posting $35,000 in bail. Lampley’s public relations representative, Howard Bragman, released a statement in which Lampley said, “I am innocent of the charge of domestic abuse that has been leveled against me and will vigorously defend myself. I’m confident that the process will prove that I’m not guilty of this charge. I thank my friends and family for their support during this difficult time, and ask for the understanding and patience from the media until my legal situation allows me to discuss this in more depth.”

Lampley drew the ire of MMA fans last summer when he said on Jim Rome’s radio show that UFC events are nothing more than bar fights and that MMA fighters are “not athletes.” Lampley also said at the time that any of the top fighters from the UFC or K-1 would lose very quickly to a top boxer, and that the UFC “will never be bigger than boxing.”

HBO has not yet made any public comment on Lampley’s status as HBO Boxing’s play-by-play announcer. The next HBO broadcast on which Lampley would be an announcer is scheduled for January 20th.

Haven't heard any calls for Jim Lampley to not call the fight or anything, as of yet.
