Gatsby was a simp of Aubreyic proportions. He built a fortune and risked jail time just so he can impress some bird bytch that didn't even really feel him like that.

yeah, that's true. she wasn't planning on leaving her man for gatsby, she was just fukking around with him.
i remember this one part of the book where he asks her to be his wife, but she's just like "be my lover" instead. we analyzed the hell out of that line in school to understand the relationship gatsby and daisy really had. she was just stepping out on tom because tom was stepping out on her. it's a shame gatsby had to be caught up in that bullshyt...
don't read the spoiler if you haven't read the book and if you don't want some of the plot revealed.

anyways, i didn't like the trailer. i understand what the director is trying to do but i feel like it's ruining my original idea of the book...

I'll try not to make judgments off a trailer that comes out over 7 months before the release date (might still be in post) but I'll at least say the casting looks good

Started reading the plot of the book on wiki and stopped myself should I get the book groom the library is it a good book ?

puttin in spoilers man....

Gatsby was a poor dude who fell in love with this girl from a wealthy family. she left him for a dude with paper. Gatsby built a criminal organization to attain his wealth with the hope of getting her back. He buys a large estate across the bay from hers & throws extravagant parties every night with the hope that she'll come...at the end, he (well, the reader) finds out that the rich are really just as bad, if not more fukked up then the poor. Irony being that he spent his entire life trying to be accepted into that world.

basically nouveau riche vs. old money in the 1920s.

like others said, i suggest you read the book. one of the best novels out there.

please don't fukk up my favorite book. it's supposed to be set in the Jazz age. shyt looks way too futuristic. thought they were gonna go with an old school Mad Men vibe.

The fireworks are a prominent part of the book if I remember right. Even if the movie falls way short of the book, at least Leo is a great actor.
And like somebody said its supposed to be set in a Jazz themed which allowed for certain colors too...man IDK, just read the book.

I wanted to hate this so bad. Gatsby is one of my favorite books and the 3D thing pisses me off. But I gotta say....I'm intrigued :leostare:

60% of shyt that gets made doesn't need to, but money is money and people will go.

And I didn't read it 'til university.
