Does this have a sense of fun to it? I caught an interview during the promo run and Ethan Hawke made it sound like it was kinda funny/fun and not all about trauma

There is the trauma of seeing your ppl in bondage

In one episode, there is a bedwench selling her self, I won't spoil it but she does some effed up shiet against blacks

There is the trauma of this dude wearing a dress and pretending he a girl, and in one conversation, he talks about His father teaching him about handjobs :mindblown: he hasn't done anything gay yet

Whatever Ethan hawke character going thru, I don't care cause them white ppl problems

Sounds like a pass for me. Maybe Hawke was talking about the book when he was talking about it being funnier or more fun.

So what are the Tarantino elements people are talking about in this thread? Is it the hyper-violence? I thought maybe this would be more Django Unchained and less Underground.

Its not as violent as tarantino's lastest movies

Yes, there is funny moments but dude wearing a dress is as old as Shakespeare

In Dallas, From Cleveland
Just finished the first episode and Ethan Hawke is really killing this role... It's tough to incorporate comedy in a story about slavery but they are finding a way to make it work. The boy in the dress was a lil annoying but it's understood why after he spoke on it. Looking forward to checking out the next 2 episodes.
