I've probably never been more excited by a show than this scene. I hadnt read the books and was completely shocked. I thought that at the last second a messenger would run up and tell joffrey that Jaime had been captured and it would force Joffrey to change his mind. Once that sword came down I remember being incredibly excited and just clapping in approval. I liked Ned but to take out the guy that they had been building up as the main character was incredible, just on a TV show level.
