That was not a finisher though :patrice: the match the gif is from he won with a Brainbuster. And when he did it to Mutoh a couple of years later, he didn't win with the Ganso Bomb either :pachaha:
To be fair, the Burning Hammer was only done a handful of times by Kobashi. Sure it finished the match (how tf could it not?) but idk if we can call it a finisher over the Burning Lariat or his moonsault

That is a true. Thing is the Burning Hammer has what, a 100% effectivity rate? That's what always puts it in the GOAT conversation because it was legit a finishing move. I get the point of it being so rarely used is :patrice: for tourney like this one but it does fit the criteria @2 Cold Taurus gave :hubie:

The Ganso Bomb is a botched powerbomb that looked vicious and Kawada then ran with it a couple of times, but it never finished anything :pachaha:

If the goddamned Burning Hammer don't walk away with this tournament, I swear to god y'all nikkas wildin :gucci:

Randall been styling on people with the RKO though in ways people couldn't fathom until he did it ... don't put it past people to pick #OuttaNowhere over a finish that's only been SEEN like seven times. The Lariat/Clotheslines ones are gonna make you think. Because a Rainmaker, while it looks cool, is not the Clothesline From Hell and neither are the Western Lariat.

You should also consider "spamming" and "is this move just a finisher or is everyone using this move" as things to be judge on as well because I can tell you the DDT, Frog Splash and Superkicks were hot on the streets once :scust: but now everyone and their mama has them in their regular rotation of ordinary moveset moves

This is a good point. Because the DDT in the hands of Arn Anderson is a certified match-ender. The DDT in the hands of prime Jake Roberts was billed as a near-death experience.

Superkick in HBK's hands? Match-ender. For the Young Bucks it's a theme song, and the Usos it's one of their Five Moves of Doom.

Anyway, Scott Steiner's Frankensteiner/Screwdriver should probably get some rep in this tournament. I'm biased and want to say the Big Boot, but that's not a finisher for anybody beyond Test. Also, Widow's Peak/Gory Neckbreaker gotta be in here.

Misawa's lack of core strength gave us a classic :wow:

But yes if were going by the criteria the Burning Hammer wins. We dont need a tournament. If this was three or four years ago, the Rainmaker would be up there too. That move was protected AF.

Has anyone kicked out of the One Winged Angel? :patrice:

Okada grabbed the ropes once. Beyond that, it's 100 percent effective assuming the pin isn't physically broken up. Also, Ibushi kicked out of Brian Kendrick's attempt of the Burning Hammer. Which reminds me, the Lumbar Check belongs in this field. Prior to that "feud" with the Fiend, Seth Rollins' Curb Stomp was largely bulletproof. Right now the End of Days is pretty much a one-hitter quitter.

One aspect of the criteria is viability, and to me, part of that is whether or not you can execute the finisher on anybody. Burning Hammer has a strength/weight limit. If you're not strong enough for the lift or the person is too big, you can't hit it. Kobashi hit it on everybody he tried it on, but could he do that shyt to Vader? Bradshaw can (and did) knock Vader's block off with his :damn: clotheslines/lariats.

You can RKO anyone. You can DDT anyone. You can strike anyone (all strike finishers have an edge in realism. If a wrestling move is something you could conceivably use in a fight without much setup ... that's points).
