Off the top of the head:
Philly
Chicago
Milwaukee (2) The brewers play not that far from downtown
New Orleans (2)
Houston?
Charlotte (2)
Baltimore (2)
Indianapolis (2)
Boston (2)
Pittsburgh (3)

Interesting topic

You named a bunch of cities with two…

And Chicago stadiums are all 6-7 miles from each other, just doesn’t feel that way because Chicago is bigger than Atlanta

Atlanta is supposed to be a world class city, and none of those cities with 2, outside of Boston which really has 3 (forgot the Bruins), are looked upon that way. I always thought Fulton Co Stadium/Turner Field was a great spot for a tourist attraction; close to downtown, not far from the worlds busiest airport, and close to the interstate. If Boston can make Fenway work, surely Atlanta could too.

One thing I believe impedes Atlantas growth but also fuels the metro area growth is the county structures of government. Georgia has 158 counties, but yet more people live in metro atlanta than the rest of the state.

I always thought the Braves move to Cobb Co was to appease to the non black metro Atlantans, so I didn’t support the move.

Last thing I will say is I wish Atlanta stopped running through stadiums like toilet paper. Can they build a stadium that lasts more than 40 years? Or at least renovate what they have? I think the new Sphincter Dome is unnecessary, could have revamped the Georgia Dome

Alright I’ll put it like this..

NYC, Chicago, LA. Those cities are a cut above Atlanta in terms of size, economy, etc. that shouldn’t hurt any of our feelings.

The only cities you mentioned where you can say (3)…. You’re talking about hockey stadiums for both of them.. and Boston is irrelevant because the Celtics and Bruins share a stadium. I’m talkin the $ it takes for stadiums, not the team.

It just doesnt really happen very often. Cities very rarely can foot the bill for 3 stadiums in 1 county.

Unless yall live in Dekalb, I don’t understand why yall wanted to have another stadium on your tax bill so bad.. Truist is just far and away a much nicer stadium than Turner Field.. and it was also more expensive to build.

And if you’re talkin about Turner Field as a tourist attraction, it looks like a shyt box when it’s a mile away from a world class stadium like Mercedes Benz Dome, we’re hosting World Cup Games there in 2026 like come on

I too was in Turner Field plenty in 2016. It’s a perfectly fine stadium. My point was that it isn’t much of a ‘tourist attraction’ when Mercedes Benz Dome is a mile away and legit a state of the art stadium

I disagree, I think they could have fitted everything in summer Hill pretty easily.

Hell naw. Getting the Braves off 75/85 was the best thing that could have happened in retrospect. The reason I didn’t go to as many games back in the Turner Field days is because it was a nightmare to get to and from games. You could easily sit in the parking lot and feeder streets for well over an hour.
