Atlanta is legit built in a forest. You just have to hope your neighbors are clean and your complex keeps the maintenance. I see most complexes have pest control included in the rent. But they still have those reviews. Ugh. My anxiety is up now.

I had the exact concern before moving into the city.
The reviews were pretty spot on. I have pest control itemized on my carrying charges. I've lived in some big apartmrnt complexes in NYC and never seen it itemized specifically for pest. I have roaches but I knew what time it was cuz I had to take what was available for my next career move that fit my budget.
Check the age of the buildings , usually older bldgs will have mold or pest issues. If you moving where nature is available expect bugs, just saying.
Try to move into buildings that are newly built. For example, my bldg has mold issues and roaches, partly because of how old the Damm building is and mishandling from property managers. Since we pay roach fee, we can request sprays as that is mgmt responsibility to handle shyt like that.

My cousin just moved to ATL on Monday, and she said her apt is nice and hasnt seen any critters YET. I might apply for where she's at.

Y’all can send me mjpls smileys and shyt all you want but I agree with JD. As someone who’s worked in high end retail and worked at Phipps and Lenox more needs to be done, period. Ironically enough I was at Saks about an hour before this shooting happened but yea more has to be done. More cops, more off duty cops, more cameras, I’m with all of that
The Buckhead Shopping district is one of the most important to Atlanta because of the tax rate (8.9%) and the businesses in that area (financial, retail, residential, etc). If Buckhead continues down this path you’ll start to lose some of that. More has to be done plain and simple

It's all about location. I'd say the best you can do is look at apartment reviews online and see if there's a common trend of complaints about roaches for whatever complex you're interested in.
I've been in my current apartment for a little over 6 months and I haven't seen a single roach but I have seen a few centipedes and spiders. Like one of the brehs mentioned Atlanta has forest and trees all over so you're not going to avoid bugs and to be honest you'll probably even see some shyt you've never seen before lol. But roaches are all about whether or not you have/had dirty neighbors and how infested your building is.

From queens, live in BK. But I'm coming down in 2 weeks to look at some places in person. I've found about 4 spots I really like. I just need to make sure it matches what the websites try to show you.
