At least one Donald Trump fan believes the president’s fiery speech was pure nirvana.
Krist Novoselic, the former bassist of seminal grunge band Nirvana, praised the commander in chief for his Monday speech in which he vowed to deploy the military in a stern crackdown against protesters.
“I know many of you can’t stand him, however, Trump knocked it out of the park with this speech,” said Novoselic in a now-hidden Facebook message. “I agree, the president should not be sending troops into states — and he legally might not be able to anyway — nevertheless, his tone in this speech is strong and direct.”
More troublingly, the 55-year-old musician referred to violence in the wake of George Floyd’s death as a “leftist insurrection.”
“Imagine if so-called ‘patriot militias’ were raising this kind of hell?” Novoselic mused. “If this were the case, left-wing people would welcome federal intervention.”

Friday night, Trump was escorted to an underground bunker as protests escalated near the White House, reported
CNN. Three days later, he addressed the nation during a brief speech in which he barely referenced Floyd’s death and ignored the issues of police brutality and institutional racism that impelled the protests in the first place.
National leaders have condemned Trump’s vitriolic speech.
New York Gov. Cuomo called Trump’s words “really, truly shameful” and California Sen. Kamala Harris said the speech was reminiscent of “the words of a dictator.”
Novoselic voted for neither Trump nor Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election; instead, throwing his support behind Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, according to
NME.
