What was so great about War Pain as diss?

I need to make a thread because y'all are crowning War Pain as something it's not when it's really just good song when grading on the Meek mill curve

Game can rap but I cant give him too much credit because he steals so many nikkas flows and rapping styles... At least Meek has a consistent and authentic style of rapping

Game also has more exp than Meek.. when Game was the same age as Meek the gap in lyrical ability wasn't that wide or noticeable..

Game is very versatile even with "jacking flows" (which he really only does on The RED Album and Jesus Piece). Meek literally has 1 flow and uses that exact flow on every track. You can basically do a template of his rhymes and it would be that way for every one of his songs.

This is how I've felt about Meek for a long time. I've never said he was wack or trash, but I've always thought he was very basic with 1 flow --- YELLING. I heard the hype around Tupac Back, then when I finally heard the song, I was like "so....this is it??". That was basically a cold Ross hook over a decent at best beat. Never liked much of his music other than Body Count, House Party and Dreams & Nightmares. Funny stuff though, the Drake beef actually made me listen to him more, cause I thought he had a lot of ammo that could have been used on Drake (we saw how that turned out). His 4/4 EPs were pretty dope though. War Pain and Gave Em Hope are the types of tracks he should stick to. Dude sounded hungry and focused over some menacing beats.

This was me exactly I had a few meek songs here and there for the turn up .

Never really listened to his whole projects .

The drake beef made me take a step back and listen to his whole catalog .

Dude is fukking dope that's why when I see people calling him a one trick pony .

I be like look I use to be the same way saying the same shyt till I listen to his music .


Honestly it made me a better fan and not a hypocrite.

A lot of people love to criticize artist without ever giving their catalog a chance .


I've been super guilty of this myself with currency and meek .

Now I'm a fan of meek and spitta because I took the time to listen .

Not saying this would be the case for everyone because you still may not like his music .

Let's be clear u can have a bias opinion with a full spectrum of knowledge too though...your taste has to be well rounded for your opinion to hold weight....I only got at this young cats cuz it seemed like they was downplaying classic diss records just because they was old....if you can't stomach the old style of rap you not fit to have a real opinion,bcuz you will hate everything old on the grounds it's "dated".....same way it can work in reverse,anybody who hates all new shyt,they opinions shouldn't hold weight in new vs old convo either....that needs to be said bcuz it's alot of "old bias"/nostalgia,anybody much as it is new nikkas not knowing what they talkin about.

Not true. Meek is also a story teller and has songs with depth where he switches up his rapping style.

Game isn't versatile because his "other flows" are just jacked from other nikkas he used as templates.

Meek can tell stories, but he never switches up his flow. He raps in the same way on every track. Game can use other people's flows, and his own. He basically beats Meek in every category imaginable other than decent commercial success. In no way at all is Meek better than him, as evidenced by these back and forth songs.
