Its called targeted marketing, they target all communities actually, they might not have the exact same commercial but they have one for every group, because they want everyone's money.I had a moment like Tre's father when he's talking to Tre and Ricky when he takes them to the neighborhood in front of the billboard.
Basically I was with my homie who was white and Mexican and we were deep in the hood one time and there's this billboard and it's McDonald's, it shows an egg mcmuffin and it says "Whats crackin?" And my boy was like "that's fukked up, they would never put that in the suburbs."
McDonald's has always had a history of specifically targeting black folks. I can't find the old commercials they had it was a black cartoon and it's after the club and the guys like "hey ma, let's get a double cheese burger" and they are doing the lil snap pop dance like d4l when all that shyt was hot.
It funny some people complain about it, when before black americans were pointing out to white folks that we were an untargeted, ignored, market.
I know with regard to distilled alcohol, as a company Hennessey was the first company in that market to deliberately target and advertise their spirit to black americans, and they were rewarded with very strong to this day customer loyalty.
