It was cool, entertaining for what it was....but the premise was clearly from the movie Taken....but i enjoyed it.

It was piff, but Godling has a point. The climax of this movie was not very good. The political b and c stories didn't enhance this. In fact, too much was spent on them trying to stop Quan, but I almost would have liked it more if Quan was dismantling his organization like The Equalizer or Man on Fire than this. I also realize this is based on the book "The Chinaman" but still. Five rough Northern Irish bomb makers hiding in an apartment, while the hero goes mess up someone else only for a last minute fight in an apartment before British police can engage, something about this felt empty.

Movie was good.

You could feel Jackie's pain. :mjcry:

I was :russ: him outsmarting and sonning them damn leprauchan micks.

A couple of HOH moments in there too. :mjlol:

The airport scene was quite tense and probably my favourite part of the movie.

Overall it could have been better, but I wasn't exactly expecting Taken style quality but it was good for what it was and i was entertained. It was just strange seeing him in a serious role.

Didn't care for this at all. I think the movie lost me two minutes in when I realized this was Edge Of Darkness Martin Campbell, not Casino Royale/Goldeneye Martin Campbell. Meaning that we got an overly serious and bloated political thriller that never gels with the Taken-esque fukkery of Jackie Chan's revenge spree. What little fukkery action there is, is pretty entertaining because Campbell does know how to direct action, but all the faux-pas intrigue related to behind-the-door political deals, media manipulation and struggling marriages never amounts to anything worth caring about, which makes Campbell's clinical and serious approach to this just more annoying. Wasted opportunity.
Tried watching this and felt exactly the same. I cut it off after an hour.
