Brass Eye (UK) :wow:

It was a satirical news show. Chris Morris made a mockery of the line between real life and fukkery. He was pranking celebrities and Members Of Parliament into making ludicrous statements on camera. The Channel 4 switchboard would blow up every time he aired a special because people thought the stuff on the show was real.

His crowning achievement might have been his revenge for being criticised by Michael Grade, the Channel 4 chairman at the time. The next show had a subliminal flash of a sign that said 'Grade Is a C*nt'

He also did 'The Day Today' with Armando Ianucci who does Veep and Steve Coogan from Alan Partridge.

Mafia wars in the 70's :blessed: Watched this on TV so don't know how available it is on torrents etc but it's well worth watching if you can find it. Spun off from a movie but the TV show is better.

Chris Morris the GOAT :wow: The Brass Eye with the pedophile disguised as a school :dead: When Chris got offended when the pedophile wasn't interested in his son :dead:The Day Today is great as well, you check out Jam breh? Next level weirdness :lupe: Still really funny though.

Jam was dope in it's own right too.

My all time favourite Brass Eye sketches were the CAKE joint and the fake Japanese commercial for 'Cannabliss' which allows the user to take drugs after filtering them through a dog. I want a new special, but I feel like people are too hip to it now.

Day Today got me into Alan Partridge. Damn near all the episodes of both were hilarious.

In The Thick Of It deserves a nod for fathering Veep's whole style. Peter Capaldi's character is just :wow:

It would definitely be tougher for a Brass Eye these days, although some of the current crop of celebrities probably have never heard of it. At the very least I think he could get some bullshyt going on Twitter. He was pretty funny interviewing Stewart Lee on his last series, dude is just too quick. I have all the Blue Jam radio shows downloaded, have to get to those sometime soon, need to rewatch Jam/Brass Eye too.

I like Veep but Thick of It is another level to me, Malcolm is an incredible character. He was a total c*nt all through the show but they still had me feeling bad for him at the end :to: Iannucci had a pretty funny sketch show as well
