I feel like I missed something. What made him snap out of that crazy phase and return to normal?
lazy writing

I feel like a member of the coli wrote this episode and some crackhead directed it

worst ep I've seen of this show yet.. not a good sign for this season although I believe the villain should work but

My guess is... by the end of this season we won't even remember that the Thinker was even in it.

eh well

yeah, this was def a terrible season opener

only thing I can think of is that the quality writers had to leave Flash to go write for Arrow

at least, that's what I'm hoping :francis:

Episode was entertaining, but it feels like a bunch of shyt happened that either wasn't explained or didn't really make sense and just happened for the sake of the plot.

  • Why were they so insistent that bringing Barry back was the only way to stop that robot Samurai? I get that they wanted to anyway, but between Cisco and Wally they should've been able to beat that thing.
  • Fukk was Barry talking about and how did he recover? Why is he so happy all of a sudden? Reminds me of right before Zoom got his dad when he was all "nothing can stop me".
  • So...Caitlin is just randomly back? But she's apparently still Killer Frost on the low? The whole Jekyll/Hyde thing is a bit old now, I hope they don't spend this whole season with her reverting back and forth like last season, it was cool then but you can't have the same story two seasons in a row.
  • Iris turning herself over to the samurai because "faith" is stupid and only worked for the sake of the plot.
  • So is Julian written out of the show now?
  • What about Harry? I guess he'll be back eventually.

I'd give it a 3/5. Not bad, but half the episode felt like an excuse for the characters to angst about Barry.

I knew they shouldn't have done Barry going to the Speed Force at the end of last season, if they were just going to bring him back so quickly in the 1st episode :francis:. They already went through enough saving Iris last season, setting up that cliff-hanger was an unforced error on the show's part. There might still be side effects that pop up, but right now Barry is feeling born again :blessed:.

Came back just in time to keep his job as well :skip:

I do hope we are done with the Speed Force and time travel for awhile, having The Thinker be the main villain and not a speedster in a step in the right direction.

Also good seeing Kim Engelbrecht show up as his assistant, I enjoyed her on Dominion :ehh:

Weird seeing Kaitlyn in less formal clothes :leon:
