Exactly..why is that so hard for cats to grasp? It'd create a ridiculous paradox and a butterfly effect that an older version of him told him not to do. Plus he'd be changing the lives of everyone around him and that would be a selfish thing for Barry to do.

In all honesty, risking the lives of everyone in the world (since it might create a black hole) just for the chance to save one person is already a horrible idea by any objective standard and the STAR Labs crew should probably go to jail for it.

Not just the crew, but they intentionally risked the lives of everyone on earth. STAR Labs basically committed 7 billion counts of reckless endangerment.
The court charge should be something like 300 million counts of reckless endangerment though, since the rest are outside of the court's jurisdiction.

and when you think about it, Eddie ain't have to die
