I think the fact that arrow ends this week so flash goes on last seems to indicate that might just be what happens

This episode was marvelous! What more can I say about Wells, he's so many steps ahead of everyone, it's ridiculous. I think that he could've easily beaten Firestorm, Olie and Barry if he wanted to. He "sacrificed" himself for the true end game. I'm excited about next week, but damn! After that, the long wait....

I've been wondering that too. Maybe he's stuck in the speed force or whatever they call it.
there's really only 3 options:
- he went into the future
- he went into the past
- he ceased to exist because the timeline was altered
