We've had song tourneys before but they fizzle out harder than the beat tourneys. Neither would get the promotional push they deserved, but the song tourneys have way more potential since you rating the producer and the artist.

Would still like to get that going, but everyone gotta get behind it.

damn shame, i remember it being posted a while back, hopefully we got some people here now that would be interested. the tunnel doesnt get that much support around here. hiphop/rap on thecoli is 90% gossip shyt and 10% music content. with thousands of lurkers, i would imagine it would be a great place to be heard and create some sort of following.

My Thoughts

Kush- very modern. Well mixed, I didn't hear it in the bigs thooo.....

Cory- interesting accompaniment throughout. You gotta take me somewhere with the arrangement though....mute some stuff here, give me a few more breaks, etc.

Dippa- a notch below in terms of the mix. Give me some more 1-5k on that snare! Definitely more my vide though then the others.

gave it to Kush in the end. Great job to all of you though.

We've tried that and usually we can't get Tunnel threads to stay stickied in the booth for too long. So much fukkery over there in the booth, the real shyt get overshadowed. That's why a tunnel thread gotta stay stickied in the booth for at least 5-7 days so it can give cats a chance to see it and participate. It has to become a staple that posters see consistently.

If i had to break it down , Kush Joint was real good . Excellent mixing with real solid structure . can,t see no flaw in this beats .

Cory banger is insane . Everything is well balance and the synth lead toward the end just sit so well in the mix so you know he did his home work .

Dippa was flawless as well . Not to complex but the overall sound quality was on point . Good chill mellow vibe .

ayo, instead of a beat tournament with us sending instrumentals that other people gonna steal, we should look into a track battle. no collabo coli album, straight battle tracks.

10 producers, 10 rappers, randomly pair them together and knock shyt out like that. take the top 10 winners (maybe 1st, 2nd, 3rd place) from the last few tournaments. rappers get a random beat to black out on.

Great idea gentlemen but unfortunately in this climate it would NEVER work. Cats don't care enough about Lyrics or Hip Hop in general. We would end up with about 5 votes

Yup, plus it takes nikkas too long to record tracks nowadays.

Remember we were giving nikkas like 3 weeks to record and submit songs and that still wasn't enough time for some people.
