If memory serves me well, skins didn't start off racist and this film is based in the 60's. Early skins in fact emulated Black dock workers who kept lowcut hair, wore boots, suspenders, etc.. Skins to this day fukk with Reggae, Ska, Rocksteady, etc.. Today you have plenty of non-racist white skins. SHARP for instance stands for Skins Against Racial Prejudice.

I don't think racist skins became a factor until the mid 70s with the rise of the National Front.
