Everything above is on point but I have to disagree with the bolded. Involvement in a child's life is key. Anyone can clothe, feed, and shelter their child but without emotional support or guidance he/she is just as vulnerable to influences outside his immediate environment as a kid raised without the parent present.

I've known of individuals to turn out dysfunctional because their father was abusive or condescending or may have even taught them dysfunctional behaviors growing up. Contrary to what many may believe you can be present in a home and still distant.

This is so true. In child development classes you learn that consistently negative interactions with a parent is almost as bad, if not worse than, no interactions at all.

I was hooping at the gym the other day and it kinda doubles as a after school hang out spots for kids, and man some of the language that are coming out of these 8 year old kids mouths is sad man.

And another thing it's getting so common now for the fathers not to even be in the picture

Another day I was hooping with my boy and we were just chilling in between games and this little girl was playing a video game and I guess she was winning in it and she was like "wassup N**** wassup N****" girl was under 10 years old. Me and my boy were discussing it on the way dropping him off and without him realizing it dude said "yea I wonder where her mother is at?" not mother and father, just mother........ kids losing without even getting a chance these days

There is nothing that can be done at this point. If you have children, raise them above your ability and if you don't have children, dont ever have children.

None of this has to do with an absentee father though.

Kids act different from when they are with their parents.

I had two parents and plenty of other people, but we use to curse up a storm in elementary school when our parents weren't around
