Now I know there are exceptions to all these stats, but the numbers don't lie. You don't even have to be a great Dad, just be there..

Everything above is on point but I have to disagree with the bolded. Involvement in a child's life is key. Anyone can clothe, feed, and shelter their child but without emotional support or guidance he/she is just as vulnerable to influences outside his immediate environment as a kid raised without the parent present.

I've known of individuals to turn out dysfunctional because their father was abusive or condescending or may have even taught them dysfunctional behaviors growing up. Contrary to what many may believe you can be present in a home and still distant.

Yup.

The lack of fathers in the households affect both genders negatively.


The boys don't know how to be men, and the women don't know how to identify good men. And the cycle continues. :smh:
