It's been confirmed that is not the ending scene. But it will be brought back up.

He bought a gun if I recall correctly but that's just further in the future and we don't know why.

Yeah he bought that gun in the future because they showed him making a "52" out of bacon which Skylar used to do on his birthday. He's in disguise with a fake ID and all alone. It's obvious he's on the run at that futuristic point.

Why they leave us hanging like this?

So many possibilities.

He could pay Hank off? Cops get bought all the time. He could die of cancer. If anybody kills him I think it has to be Jesse but I just can't see that happening. Hank won't kill him but prison is certainly another option.

With him being on the run like that it seems prison or cancer get him in the end.

Wife commits suicide.

Walt dies from the cancer before Hank can catch him, but Hank gets the kids to raise and Walt Jr. goes back to the father figure he really looked up to from jump.

Last scene is Walt's funeral and nobody shows up but Jessie. Maybe Hank or Walt Jr. as well, someone else so that Jessie can make a final statement about Walt's empire collapsing and him ending with less than he had as a school teacher with cancer.

I'm thinking, WW out smarts every1. He dies, but really fakes his own death. that way avoids prosecution, and the harrassin wife. Every1 will think hes dead, even us credits will roll, and then a last second scene will show Walt in mexico in a small run down house like the 1 Tuco was in, wit da hat on, still living and kickin. wit a smile on his face.

With Walt dying, Hank then makes a deal with Jessie to get info on da cartel n other dealers, and gives Jessie a fresh start for him n his girl n kid in the witness protectin program. I dunno y, but i like to think Walts baby girl dies, for sum reason though.

Hank already has taken da money, the paid rehab remember. Also the fact that Hank is good police works in WW and Jessies favour. As Hank cares alot about how ppl judge him and look at em, imagine if it got out that the biggest drug dealer in the Southern US is his bro in law. He would be the laughin stock of the agency.

he has to catch Hank on his own, and then make a deal wit em to stop and then sumhow shift da blame on sum1 else to get the credit for the big bust. Hank sets up a huge bomb or sumthin fakes his death every1 mourns, jessie then is da witness for Hank to nab maybe da dudes who they sellin da precursor too. and gives info on da cartel as well.

jessie then gets witness protection, up sumwhere cold, tryin to live the straight and narrow wit a wife n kid, dat wld b like death to jessie, he wldnt be able to handle it. he thinks he wants that life, but he cnt handle it.

Skylar is then stuck workin in da car wash, every day barely mkin ends meet as walt took da money wit em, or used it up sumhow. she has no hank, n da other dude is a cripple, and her bro in law n sis look at her wit a scowl at every fam dinner cuz of hank. Remember at start of show it had hank workin in car wash wit all da steam and chemicals n hatin it, now dats skylar, dat would be scary n her hell.

Hank wld probably have to do early retirement, or be stuck behind a desk as sum1 in upper command knows or finds out its walt but doesnt want this all to be big noise as mks da whole agency look bad, much like the Wire at da end, lester n white boy had to retire, daniels had to stepped down quietly.
