The new US TV deal is why that is the case. Back when NBC had the rights, the playoffs would be going on right now. But now on ESPN/TNT, NHL had to start the season a week later to accommodate both networks since they have MLB playoffs when the season starts and the NBA play-in tournament when season ends.

So he doesn’t sue them for forcing him out. I saw a new report when Bettman suggested he sell the team initially it wasn’t a great response. They are basically saying prove that you can build this arena in North Phoenix and if he does, he will get a team. But, I think he won’t and likely Ishbia gets the expansion team when he’s ready to build a new arena for the Suns.
