Nah, breh I remember the director saying that the skull was silly to have on his chest but turned around and made Dolph have the outline of a skull in his face with the razor stubble. The skull was also on his stiletto blades.
Remember this was still around that time when Hollywood peeps were ashamed somewhat of doing comic book movies.
But to be fair to you, I'll have to check that out again to be sure.
