The fact remains, women have no good reason to wear weaves.

okay so, once again, to clarify -- because this some crazy black women bullshyt. white men (and other races of men) are natural even though most cut their hair, put holding gels and mousses in their hair.

however, black men aren't natural when they cut their hair, put moisturizers, oils in it, then apply a brush. am i getting this correctly? because i've seen videos of cacs trying to get waves and it's just... food for the soul. :o: either way, most black men dont rock waves. it's one of many hair styles you'll catch on us but most prefer to keep it low as it's professional.

The idea that most Black men don't rock waves isn't true at all in my experience. I run into a Black man that wears their hair even up to half this length about once or twice a week:

Notice the texture. Tell me that's on the same level as waves. Please.

you're still picking an impoverished country to make your hair argument. when we're talking about american white women, the same american white women many black girls grew up idolizing. they are not selling their hair, which was my pt.

we've already established black girls wouldn't buy indian, asian, brazilian hair if their own hair was promoted in the media. :what: we've ALREADY ESTABLISHED THIS! it is not the goddamn indian woman getting all the promotion in tv, movies, modelling that has black women feeling their own hair is not good enough. it's not the indian woman black women complain so goddamn much is taking their men. so why do you keep saying y'all are emulating asians when cacs are the ones got you feeling like it's necessary to purchase hair from foreign sources? :why:

Dude. You are not going to convince me. Cacs don't have me feeling any type of way. Also not all black women are crying over black men or white women, especially considering that fact that black men are still overwhelmingly marrying...BLACK WOMEN. Again, white women hair is available and imported just like Indian and Brazilian hair (US indian women aren't cutting and selling their hair either...it's imported). People don't want that shyt (I don't know why you're mad about it). They are buying imported indian hair and brazilian hair when they could buy imported white hair and they choose not too. Stay mad about it.

The are all types of images in the media and they aren't all straight hair. Again, I know what I see. I know what was idealized when I was growing up and no one was trying to look like your average white girl (people idolized "indian/native american" wavy hair).

Women will do just about anything to improve their self image and self esteem.

What was that Chris Rock documentary? Good Hair? or something like that.
They were putting chemicals in their hair that could leave 3rd degree burns.

haha that shyt sucked

last post im going to try to make in this thread

look at the comments on this mary j blidge natural hair photo. look at ALL of the negative comments, guess who are making 90% of the negative comments. who hates natural hair more than black women? WHO?

I saw mostly positive comments and the negative comments simply said they didn't like the look on her or that it makes her look old (which could mean the style...not the texture). I didn't read all the comments though...just the ones that were visible when I clicked the link.

So we're measuring self hatred by the amount of money spent. Where does that leave the white women y'all keep bringing up but defending from criticism :dwillhuh:

Stop it. Its about putting on display the unique kinky hair texture of Black hair. Neither Black women or Black men are doing it a lot. Not to mention, the very thought that people who don't even deal with their own natural hair beyond a centimeter length dictating to people that actually maintain some length and texture to it how they don't love themselves...:snoop:

What are you reading? I've seen "love it" "beautiful" "looks good" I don't see majority of the black women commenting hating on it being natural.

There seems to be a disconnect between the men and women in this thread

I agree that weave wearing...constant weave wearing isn't healthy for your hair, or your self esteem...but to say that someone wearing a weave 2-3 months out of the year for one year out of the 8 years they have been natural equates to them being a c00n and that they hate themselves.....:what:

Anytime I see a black woman without weave I compliment her hair to keep the cycle of natural hair flowing :blessed:
