Why go to the extreme . If you have a female black baby and don't cut or manipulate their hair from a baby all the way to late teens. They'd have long hair easily. There is no special formula for getting long hair. The weave is due to brainwashing to the European beauty standard, simple.

@Napoleon I understand where you are coming from, but not every black female who wears a weave does so to improve their self-esteem. A weave can actually be a protective hairstyle, particularly during the winter months. Me personally, I'm not down with the weave thing...anymore. My last weave (7 years ago) damaged my hairline and it took a long time to get back to normal.

Black women can grow their hair super long...unfortunately quite a few are just lazy.

I am a black man with long hair, had hair since birth and i NEVER thought about using weave to protect my hair. Black men and women have the same hair texture. Another excuse. Go to Jamaica, almost every dude down their has long hair and that sh!t look beautiful. But the 90% of the women down there have on wigs/weaves and you still think it is being used as a "protective hairstyle"?
