Real talk this was the era that I really got into rnb, I was a young cat and my moms used to bump that Ginuwine in the whip, had me jammin to it. I remember when Aaliyah died, that was the first time I actually felt sadness about a celebrity dying. I wonder if they will ever drop Ginuwine's version of I Miss You.

That R Kelly/Aaliyah essence was still in the air. Yeah Aaliyah was cute but everytime I saw her videos I would immediatly think of her and R Kelly.

Couldn't stand Missy's reign. Mediocre lyrics and her face was hard on the eyes yet she was everywhere for a long time. I still cringe at that "eat it like a vulture" line. How you gonna have kids dancing to the chorus of a female wanting to know if a mans penis is big?? I could smell her breath thru the screen everytime she stuck that disgusting tongue out of her Arsenio Hall gum having horse mouth. Her song writing skills and Timbos beats kept her afloat.

You can't honestly be a hip hop fan if this is the reason you don't like Missy Elliott. :stopitslime: Her raps were mediocre, but her R&B songwriting is dope.

Silly me thought Timbo was making all those beats from scratch:banderas:

...but OP's right the era of Timbo/Missy, Aaliyah & Ginuwine with Static from Playa penning most of those classic songs was GOAT:ahh:

guess u missed the part where I said...

I remember the seeing the group Sista on The Box and thinking, "They would be a perfect visual if they got rid of that ugly one." Then a few years later, "the ugly one" blew up in the game and she wouldn't go away. Also she wasn't that good of a singer either. I still cringe at hearing Missy's sidleine comments about playing with herself in that Tweet song "Oops"
