there's lots of stories about incidents that happened between Jay and the Dips but overall it seems they fell out cuz Jay didn't show them any love and brushed them off when they wanted collabos (even though he did a Oh Boy remix that got deleted, then Welcome to New York City after that)

So they were already not fukking with Jay like that (cuz he wasn't fukking with them), then they got taken off the Roc the Mic tour which was the straw that broke the camel's back

then Dame and Jay fell out, which led to the Dips making diss tracks out of loyalty to Dame (and they didn't fukk with Jay at all anyway)

Cam was feeling himself too much (with all right at the time), the only problem was that Jay-z was his boss.
He didn't like that thought, he thought of Jay as his peer, a fellow rapper. While Jay thought of him as his employee, a young nikka who was far from his level who should've rode his dikk like all his other employees. 2 nikkas with equal egos, with one being the employer and the other being the employee. I think if Cam would've been humble, there would've never been a problem.

And also Dame Dash was pumpin him as well and Jay and Dame had already started separating from each other by 2002.
Which lead to Cam considering himself strictly being under Dame & Hoffa.


That's why I think at least, seems like the most reasonable thing.
