anybody can get a number one song these days with so many cheat codes, if he got it 10 years ago then maybe I would be impressed.

This generation is too concerned with the short term. Do you think the pace he is moving at is sustainable? All I see is an idiot running down an endless hill as fast he can to avoid falling.

I'm with your logic when it comes to guys like Tekashi, and every clout chaser/wanna be gang member....

This is a kid, who blew up fast, and is working social media like he's supposed to. There's no need to be a grandpa about it, he's smart, he's clearly good at marketing his brand, even pandering, and thats what its always been about. Jay Z's cocaine cowboy fiction was nice to listen to back in the day, but its kinda cringe now, not as much as his rapping about buying paintings and being...well, old. Rap has always been about focusing on the short term, no one was spitting about longevity, creating a portfolio and or stocks and bonds. These kids are doing what all the legends of today did.

Not everyone is gonna be Nas, Cole, Kdot, etc...some people are gonna want to shine for as much as they can without thinking of the future. Doesn't bother me, music is music, and that's all I care for, I'm not in it for the politics.

After Nicki/69 got a #1 hit and their fans were literally on social media bragging about faking the streaming numbers.....you cats still think a #1 hit matters? :mjlol:

If this song sits at #1 for weeks on end cool, it's a bonafied hit....but so many songs hit #1 then tumble down the charts you can't even keep track of them any more. Cardi was just #1 and Drake was #1 for a week prior to that. Next week it'll probably be someone else. You cats gotta stop falling for the okey-doke at some point.

Cardi is still In the top 5. Up has staying power.

This song will probably have staying power too.
