I'll be glad when these cats whose heyday was the 70's get the fukk outta the industry. Not a knock on this show per se, but it's time to move on. The audience with buying power who has years left to be loyal customers are ready for more 80's/90's shows, and not fukking crack epidemic shows either

Basically exactly how I feel......except enough of the fukking 80's drug scene, Escobar, Colombia, move on.... the 70's sleaze, Vinyl style male porn too.

Don't know the second show, and I give you stranger things...even tho events and culture of the 80's aren't integral to it, I feel like they chose that decade as an ode to the john carpenter/80's horror renaissance. The look of that show is built around the whole look of 80's horror

Pilot is good, I'd give it an 8/10. Great sense of place. A lot of sprawl early on which I expected since it is David Simon. Will be interesting to see if they can bring it all together in a satisfactory way since they only have 8 episodes.
