Other than a few select fighters, OneFC's roster is :scust: I don't see them making any waves.

Tbh, UFC has the best talent. You could make the scust face at any roster except theirs.

What I see in ONE is their potential. They've apparently got the Asian market on lock. TV and PPV deals in place and dat Singapore money is nothing to sneeze at.

The roster ain't anything special, but I think they've only been around for like 4 years.

The fact that they're not direct competitors with the UFC gives them a better shot than, say, Bellator or WSOF.

It'd be cool if those promotions(Bellator, WSOF)joined ONE's network or promotions and camps and gave them a US presence while making the others more global.

They better think smart and invest in grabbing some guys from Cage Warriors since they're about done at this point.

According to a friend of mine another way that the UFC might lose some luster is with a horrible steroids scandal.

I don't think that fans would care about that at all. But his argument is that the belt would lose legitimacy.

Aside from that, though. What kind of threat do you think other promotions might pose? I don't consider UFC as much of a monopoly as they're portrayed. But they do have a chokehold on American MMA

I feel Bellator if anything is in the better position to be a possible threat, but they gotta be consistent with scouting for prospects (places like Russia & Brazil especially). Try and scoop up some prospects from the Olympic combat sports, build some hype around them etc. Viacom got the bread for it. Build up that hype

Through the thing is, they had two different aspects that put them above the UFC imo: The tournament format and having a womens straw-weight division. I remember peeping that shyt on MTV 2 and honestly, I enjoyed it, wasn't all made to look like a big deal, but the fact what was at stake for these dudes from different cultural and occupational backgrounds to fight three times in three months, kept me glued to check them out.

Now, I guess they have to dig deep and start scouting for those new starts, but building them up to be the Rousey, Aldo, McGregor, Jones, Weidman etc.

As for World Series of Fighting..they have the right idea of having these expansions with (WSoF) Japan, Canada and Central America, but I don't know if it'll be beneficial for them in the long run. However, if it's anyone that needed to cross-promote with regional darlings like RFA & Legacy and international orgs. like ONE Championship and IGF I think they'd be the best candidate and the closest thing MMA could have to a set up like Boxing.

Bellator has around 20 good to great fighters. OneFC on the other hand has 3 (Aoki, Askren & Bibiano).

Most avid MMA fans barely care about OneFC.

WSOF is losing money, I doubt they're going to be around for long.

Bellator doesn't use the tournament format anymore. That went with Bjorn.

But that's the best talent in Asia, at the moment.

What I can see happening is ONE putting on shows and making profits with the talents they can afford. Gradually, one would assume, they'll be able to afford better talent. :yeshrug:

That's why I think they're in a better position than the US promotions cause ONE is gonna get that Asia money regardless.

I just saw the main event of WSOF 19.

It was a great fight to watch. Promotions coming up don't necessarily need the best fighters, they've just got to have great fights to build that buzz..

WSOF 19: Justin Gaethje vs Luis Palomino full fight 28.03.2015:

I still need to watch this and the LC Davis/Tokoro fight. Heard both are FOTY contenders.

I know MMA fighters and MMA fans that spout that "Boxing is Dead" rhetoric is reading that tweet and looking like:
