Unless you go by the logic that it was so overpraised that people eventually started to then call it overrated for its tone and then there's was this backlash after a few years people forgot what they loved about in the first place and now people have come around again and said its underrated.

Dark Knight was (and still is) so good and made so much money that it became cool to dislike it, in a hipster kind of way, but its not underrated in anyway. Its loved by all except some film snobs and extreme Marvel stans that bring boxofficemojo links to the discussion thinking its relevant.

I enjoy TDKR more than most folks. It has flaws and is the worst of the Nolan DK Trilogy, yes, but it's a pretty solid film IMO.
