I've only watched the 1st episode of s1 and the 1st episode of s2. But I don't think that group can or should be able to handle a Joker and female Joker (Alice) in the same city. Batman himself can barely handle Joker at times.
Alice is almost a anti-hero now, another half season she will be Catwoman status where they will just let her go at the end of an episode, she was pretty much that at the end of last season

The show seems to be moving completely away from the Kane family so Alice could leave without there being much of a shakeup.
