Hell, we'd DEFINITELY still think Hulk Hogan liked us and we see how that panned out. So conversely, just because someone isn't booking certain Black wrestlers the way we want 'em to be booked does not inherently mean they hate Black people. It also doesn't mean they DON'T for the record either. I wanna see what happens when more and fresher talents (especially Femi) hit the roster.

This is 100% on point, but, this is thecoli and the reason this thread is almost 1,900 post deep is because of the ism accussations.

shyt, I made a similar thread a few weeks before this one and it flopped.

No, Laveck has a few bad habits that hurts black wrestlers once they are out of his loop.

  1. Without proof, I firmly believe he books the main event scene for the entire year.
  2. He does not give a flying fukk about tag team wrestling. Bianca is only there to protect Jade. The New Day should've been tag team champs weeks ago.
  3. He loves people that don't mind eating pin after pin. He loves 50/50 booking, so, if you're gonna get on TV you gotta lose as much as you win (with notably exceptions).
  4. He does most of the writing--it shows because his main stories are taken care of and EVERYBODY else is aimless. Seriously...why isn't Bron Breakker deep in a months long feud when Mania is a month away.
I feel bad for NXT callups because he's gonna already have his year plotted out regardless of what they do.

Penta is getting hyped because he wants to stick it to Tony Khan. Same with Fenix joins him and it starts looking like tag team wrestling matters, again.

If someone wrecked 3 cars how confident are you that they won't wreck the 4th?

We all way more impressed with NXT talent than he is.

I feel like I'm in La-La Land.

Everybody was fukking with Melo (WAY MORE than Tiffany, Lyra or even Bron at their peaks in NXT) and now, it's like..."Ehhhhh, let's give it another year."

I swear ppl were callin' him the next Shawn Michaels.

He got booked to lose to Cody and Cody bussed his ass trying go as fast as Melo and that was the peak of his career.

HBK literally said Melo reminded him of a young HBK.

He reminded me of a early Jericho just without the proven ability to reinvent his gimmick .

It's still weird. Lyra is not over with the main roster crowd but she's our inaugural IC champ. Tiffany got over because of Elimination Chamber, and thus one MITB and became top champ.

Melo is better on the mic than Tiffany, Lyra, Bron and Ilya, then he got over to some extent with that Andrade series. He was rewarded with LA Knight ruining game 7 and only getting one shot at the US title in a triple threat. And in the interim, Shinsuke held the belt hostage for like 4 months.

No matter how I look at it on paper the booking doesn't really make sense, and I have low hopes that Hunter will book him as a serious contender but hey at least he's not jobbing like Theory.

At this point Theory might be better asking for a release and betting on himself while he's still young cause I can't see him getting another contract at this rate.

Losing Theory would be an even further indictment on HHH. Imagine losing the young blue chipper who beat Cena and had a great segment with The Rock.

Trick Williams I can see Hunter wasting him by having him feud with high work rate guys to give Trick even more in ring experience, which he needs if he's ever going to consistently main event 20-30 minute matches.

There is no rationale with Oba.

The worst possible booking for Oba when he comes to the MR is him feuding with a Braun or a Jacob to decide who's the monster of monsters. Realistically he should come close to beating Gunther's IC record, and I would prefer him to have a Lesnar or Sheamus rookie year. In all the time since Brock's debut Oba is one of like 3-5 young guys you can say strap him to the moon and see if he lands.

For the most part WWE can get any free agent they want except for like Toni (found her gimmick and success away from WWE),
Swerve who completely soured on Hunter, and I don't think MJF would trust Hunter to book him nor do I think his character is directly translatable to the WWE product.

If Theory can create a main event level gimmick or improve his mic skills, he would probably walk back to the WWE in with some creative assurances, same assurances Vince gave to Cody who lost the audience in AEW.

MJF is one of the most overrated people in all of wrestling. His gimmick of being a cringey edgelord troll doll should've never gotten as popular as it did. I also never believed that there was a bidding war for him, he just used that to milk more money from Tony. I also don't think they can get any free agent they want, for instance they wanted Jay White and he used the temporary hiring freeze to get a better deal from Tony.

It's cheap but MJF can consistently get a reaction from the crowd, even if it's the 574th time he buried the city, or their sports team, or calls someone trash. He gets people to care about his views and that's what matters even if he's not the type of heel I would prefer. MJF is overall good for business and a draw.

Now, WWE is partnered with Netflix now, so if a wrestler has higher ambitions and wants a chance to do stuff outside of wrestling WWE has the better connections and is more attractive for that sort of work.

And even then WWE is doing great business and already has a lot of credible main eventers, I doubt bringing along a Jay White or even a Kenny Omega is going to make significantly more business. Like there's so much talent that any combination of Seth/Drew/Punk/Roman/Cody/Rock/Cena has the potential to be a top 10 Mania main event.

But you said they could get anyone they wanted and I posted an example of that not being true, so what does how much they can possibly bring even matter? As for MJF being good for business I don't see that being true, since ratings and attendance say otherwise.
