Breh... Some of us ain't from the "everybody has to get a belt within their first year or their entire career is over" era of rasslin' fans. We've seen MFs actually come up in the ranks and take Ls on the way. shyt, we watched Cena and especially Cody do that... we watched Jey Uso and his brother in a team that took three years to get remotely over... some of us saw HHH lose to a washed-up Barry Windham and do a 90-second squash to the Warrior at Mania in '96... most of our '80s/90s favorites- them MFs lost a lot of matches before they were winning belts and main eventing. If they thought of their careers the way "the internet" does, they wouldn't have made it two years in any company. That's why we don't hop to foregone conclusions just cause a wrestler we like isn't running thru the roster soon as they get there
You're setting up false equivalencies to defend Carmelo looking like an idiot every time I see him on TV.
Main roster for almost a year and he's jumping from fighting a World champ & competing in a series for the US title to being looked over for a cold ass Shinsuke run to being bytched by Stroman (who's actually doing something meaningful) to being with ice cold Miz who has done anything of note in 5 years.
I get it, the premise of the thread is flawed, but, we've got a sample size (damn near a year) and pretty fair comparisons (Lyra, Bron, Tiffany) to come to the conclusion; yea, they don't have anything for him.
You're pulling examples from the 90's when I can say; Lyra Valkyria and show you all the work they're doing to keep her relevancy in her short time on the main roster.
Melo isn't young-25, 26, 27. He's 30.
When HHH was 30, he was a 2 time IC Champ, 2 time Euro Champion and headed to his second WWF title run.
I've used better fair data to come to the conclusion; creative ain't fukking with Melo like that.
