Because he’s not matchup proof. Certain guys can guard him one on one. Nobody talks about that so when his jumper isn’t on he can struggle.

These are not matchup problems though. He just gets lost off ball too much and gets in his own head. Mazzula not going with him this whole quarter then only do so at this point, Tatum is too easy to fall out of rhythm. He basically needs to be a volume shooter or at least have a higher usage rate. He should be bringing the ball up late in games. Not Smart or Brown

Miami doesn’t look that good on paper nor are they overly exciting to watch but they are extremely well coached, they play defense, they share the ball, and everyone knows their role. They got shooters, a big that anchors the D and gets rebounds in Bam, and an all star level slasher in Butler.
