- Both films were intented deconstruct super-hero/comic book movies.
- Both feature mentally ill protagonists
- Both heavily inspired by Taxi Driver, with one being much less of a rip off

Obviously Joker is a much more beautiful film visually, and an all time great acting talent in the lead. But when it comes to execution of similar intent, I feel like James Gunn's Super is the better comic book movie deconstruction, done with less money and much less talent. I think he said he pitched it as Taxi Driver meets Napoleon Dynamite lol, which is kinda what you have.

Not to mention the fact that if Frank Darbo ever ran into Aurther Fleck he would get his head buss, no Batman needed.

I preferred Super I couldn't stop laughing. With the Joker I was waiting for it to end. I've seen Taxi Driver I didn't need to see a part 2.

Joker is probably my favorite comic movie. Saying it’s a Taxi Driver ripoff is only looking at it at a very shallow level.
