Also let’s not act like Bernie didn’t win Cali , you can’t during the general be like fukk those hick states that cost us the election but then tout them helping you win the primary lol you’re such hypocrites that’s why you’re not taken seriously but I think the south pulls not only the general but the dem nominee to the right , the south’s outsized power moves everything right , Clinton and Carter were the previous two dem winners both from the south , this is the biggest mistake of dem voters imo , they don’t realize Obama was an anomaly. It’s not a reproducible strategy cause you don’t just find genius charismatic people on that level out of the blue. They mistook any kind of strategy they did for Obama himself being who he was
Correct me if I’m wrong but Biden won all the swing state primaries

Sounds like excuses to me. If Bernie was a better candidate then Biden he would have won period. You can’t go against the establishment then be upset that the Establishment does not portray you in a positive light.

& this isn’t what aboutism Biden won a very crowded primary and is now crushing an incumbent in the polls. It’s time to stop claiming Biden is a bad candidate
Bernie would’ve been getting destroyed right now. I don’t know we’re even talking about him still. And anyone claiming the Democrats haven’t made any gains since 2016 have spent the last 3.5 years with their head in their ass.

Why do you say that? Funny, the only people still talking about Bernie are the people who didn't support him. lol

Biden isn’t nearly as hated or polarizing as Hillary plus he doesn’t have to worry about sexism
He also doesn't have any special demo pushing for him being the 'first' like Hillary had women.
I'm not convinced, until he wins I'm not saying this election is different. I hope so, but let's wait and see instead of forcing a false sense of security.

Bernie would be beating Trump in the polls. Not as much as Biden but he was leading Trump in most polls for the last year in live polling both nationally and in the Midwest. With Covid, he'd be leading nationally.

His difficulity was competing in places like AZ, FL, GA... he would get washed there.

I would argue that the events of the last few weeks would leave him far more open to a smear campaign than Biden. Trump hasn’t been able to paint Joe into a corner just yet. Bernie would be an easy target.

However, I do admit Bernie would probably garner more enthusiasm from his own side.

How would you see the down ballot races playing out with Bernie as the nominee?

With how the Trump admin has bungled the Covid response and the economic situation we’re in, I think things would be similar. But I think those candidates in the southern sunbelt would distance themselves from him.

One thing with Bernie though is he’d have shifted his rhetoric and I think would have gone into more of the keys unify pitch which he used in 2016. He had the opposite problem of Biden and that’s the older voters. Now if he won the nomination, most of them would fall in line cause they’d vote for a rock over Trump.

Plus Obama and him were talking quite a bit in the primary with Obama being impressed with his connection to voters.
