its not that he is a good interview...its just that there has never really been a place in hip hop where someone could just speak for an hour or two.Like who?
Given the depth of info and new insight we have gotten from veteran guests who have prob been interviewed relentlessly their whole careers I don't see what you mean...
The difference between this podcast, and what we hear on the radio etc... is that most of the artist on the radio only have a few minutes, and they are selling their cd/movie.
On the podcast its mostly old heads that want to tell their story, so they just talk. So this is really refreshing.
He doesnt really seem to do homework on the guest. you can tell when its someone he's not too familiar with.
And the interview style is kind of like Angie Martinez where the guest controls the flow. I personally like when the interviewer is prepared, and challenges the person they are speaking to.
But that could just be his style.
I personally think Stern is one of the best interviewers because he does prepare...and he ask questions that people really want to know.
Not knocking though...im not the one putting this show together, and its real easy to critique someone while sitting on the couch.
