Damn! I remember having a couple of his mixtapes that came out before the album and just loving those mixtapes. Songs like The Good, The Bad, The Ugly with Consequences. The beats were just so soulful and the rhymes were fun but also came with some substance. His music was a fresh air of breathe :ahh:

I didn't have any mixtapes before the debut dropped....Through The wire at the time had me :ohhh: Yeah I had to check this cat out.

Yeah, I had some mixtapes 1 of my best friends had made; it was songs from like that Get Well Soon mixtape he had that came out after the accident

I use to love that song My way he had on 1 of those mixtapes.

Bruh, I remember I had put Through The Wire on a couple of different mixtapes I had made (I use to play that song over and over!); cause I was a mixtape fiend. I use to make a mixtapes like clock work back then. I loved (still do) that song. Very heartfelt song. I always loved Chaka's classic Through The Wire too; that was a record both my mom and dad played a lot back in the day. Classic 80's music right there

You think so? Go and listen to the album if you haven't in a long time, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. The soulful sounds of The College Dropout are timeless.

:russ: at the edits.

we don't care, new workout plan, breathe in breathe out, even jesus walks :ld:

don't get me wrong i LOVE them. but they do sound kinda dated.. compared even to late registration.... and mbdtf makes them sound like demos

once mike dean stepped in at graduation there's a NOTICEABLE difference in the mixing quality, although lr was fukking great

I've always thought Kanye's albums have gotten progressively worse. CD & LR are classics to me with CD>LR, Graduation was good and everything since then has ranged from :ld: to :scust:

I think the biggest different between the sounds on The College Dropout and Late Registration is not just the obvious move into live instrumentation but the more polished sound that comes along with that. Late Registration is a more polished album than The College Dropout. But the SONGS on the The College Dropout are stronger and hit harder IMO.

Mike Dean actually did some mixing on The College Dropout, well Two Words.
