People ALWAYS say this, but it was a god damn lie to preserve hip hop's machismo. Esau was a skateboarder that just happened to win over a studio gangster Fukk-boy. Another misconception is that said fukk-boy got his "ass whooped". He didn't, he just lost. There's a difference.

Were you into boxing or was it just a one-time thing?

That was the first time I boxed, but I wound up having 3 other organized fights. My record is 3-1.

In the end, you didn’t fight Shaun, but Mike Muir from Suicidal Tendencies. Did Shaun Palmer hurt his hand right before the boxing match or did he get scared?

I’m the kind of guy that likes to give people the benefit of the doubt, so I have to take Palmer at his word on that. But, it is interesting that neither he nor his crew made any effort to reschedule the fight later on.

Simon won this unsanctioned/amateur boxing match on points after 3 rounds of 2 minutes by unanimous decision.


This was in 96 before he threw down with Sticky. There's no shame in losing to someone with trained hands when you don't know shyt in a boxing match

Uhm yeah, dude went to a legit professional training facility, and went on to fight several amateur fights. Whether it's five months or five years, that's trained....but judging from your facetious reply, it's safe to assume that you've been proven wrong, and know it too. You said the white boy didn't box, I proved otherwise. End of story. Moving on...

nikka's are missing the point. I'm saying that he obviously had more training than Stickyfingaz did, and that gave him an edge. No one's saying dude was a monster with the hands....he just knew a lil bit more than any haymaker throwing street brawler.

Woodstock was not nice with his hands so fukk whatever lessons he took. That aside, sticky knew what was at stake and should have, could have taken boxing lessons himself prior to the fight. But whatever this nikka did to train for this fight it came up short and he didnt go in there and dominate that fight like a nikka with a tough guy image should.

Sticky should have fukked that white boy up, plain and simple. I mean come on, this nikka damn near had a dmx when he first came out image when he took this fight, still took part in this monkey shyt and because he took part in it he was supposed to go there and handle it properly. But like homie said, he didnt go out there and get fukked up (thank God) but he did go out there and let a skate boarding white boy with colored hair go toe to toe with him and his tuff nikka image he lost.

It was all just an image. He was a sucka in the streets, and dudes used to think he was a homo. I was a child hearing this, because Im from crown heights, and he used to be a barber over there. He probably got "muscles" from being in a dance group or some shyt. But that image was all a front, he was a great actor. And probably got crazier as time went by believing his own illusions, and hanging out with white women doing acid and whatever else.
