Yeah props on the nice hit. The key to success in this game is consistancy. Those boom or bust stocks love to give back their gains. Finding 30% gainers is hard and risky.

I saw today a guy made 30K on a stock he's been holding for over 9 months. I fux wit this simulator and usually sell my stocks after they've turned a nice profit or hit 5% red. If I jumped into the real market, should I just find a stock and hold on to it or sell once I've turned a nice profit? I dont want to be in a situation where I hold onto one and it starts getting bloody. I read that guys usually sell at 6 to 8 % red

Theres a million different strategies so it depends on your trading style. Sounds like the 9 month guy is a long term holder so he's investing for value most likely. The guys that sell at 6-8% gains are short term traders and its a different ball game. Do whatevers most comfortable for you and your trading style and your threshold for pain(risk, loss)

If you have impulse issues like gambling (I do) then you should short term trade. Small attention span and you know if you win or lose quickly. If you have patience and believe in your research, then you trade long term as its typically much less risky.

can we get a stock watchlist or something similar? if you do research after hours you should be able to save stocks in case you want to buy them at a later time. or maybe put in a buy and it goes in when the market opens, would suck if a stock you liked shot up early and you missed the initial raise. think watchlist would be better.

When you buy a stock, do you hold on it long term (thru the rips & dips) or do you sell once it goes 3,4, or 5% bloody?

I personally do short term trading so if I get to 4-6% I cash out. If you're a true long term holder then the rips and dips don't matter. You stay in the stock.

As long as the green's % is up, that means I've still turned a profit, right? The bottom one just represents today's current value dip?
