I watched a subbed version and pretty much read the whole movie. It would have been damn near impossible to watch without it, being that the accents are so unfamiliar. I'm with @YallSOHHMaD?, I was thinking that everything he was doing was a lil too extreme until, well you know.
I kinda thought something was up when I noticed the brother had the same pants on from getting bullied to when he was talking to Rich. I also loved his DGAF moment when he met Sonny. The end was almost perfect, I thought he was just gonna have mercy on the family dude, but I didn't think he would make him kill him. The torment of his dead brother was super real.

Some other things I appreciated:

1. Sort of a classic revenge flick, but so far removed from the classic American style guns and explosions. When you remove those from the movie it gives the writers so much more room to be creative. I think guns and explosions have made too many potential good movies into lazy hollywood spectacles. (Don't get me wrong tho, I like guns and explosions, but I love good writing.

2. The cinematography was perfect for this movie. Good and dark, a bit gritty. A lot of greens and reds in the color spectrum. The use of monochrome was spot on.

3. Good acting

4. The fact that there wasn't a cliche detective chasing him around trying to figure out who's doing what, was refreshing.

Yea I agree about the lowkey thing, without a lot of spectacle it keeps Richard's hatred front and centre the whole time, gives the film a lot of its burn. As far as the writing I think big chunk of the dialogue was adlibbed, which you can hear in the film. Some of it was pretty funny to me:

"Take this knife, it's army issue :smugdraper:"

"But... he was in the army :merchant: "

That pos clown car they're always driving around in :heh:

I also like the way
how he started off by just fukking around with them with the face paint before he graduated to murdering them. Most revenge films get into the murkage ASAP, the way they did it in this nicely wrongfoots the audience. Also a nice parallel to the way the seriousness of the ways they fukk with Anthony escalates in the flashbacks at the same time

@YallSOHHMaD? My bad with the subs breh I should of mentioned that in the OP :snoop: that Midlands accent is no joke

Yall think the
twist was well judged or nah?
