The Ruler of France has a famous quote: "I am the state— I alone am here the representative of the people."
It's not an attack, it, so far in our research and discussion, appears that the State (the King), granted a business charter to the People (Londoners), and the People went into Business (The Virginia Company) and subsequently brought in Africans for cheaper labor.
It's a direct line from 1607 to 1619.
