between this, Megabus with massive cuts and Greyhound shutting down bus terminals across the country, it's not looking good for low cost intercity travel in this country

That is my concern, too.

For the complaints and jokes, Spirit Airlines was a viable way for working class people to travel. Same with Greyhound, Coach etc.
That sucks, hopefully they work it out without having to raise airfare prices to much.
I've flown Spirit probably 80% of the times I've flown in my life. Wouldn't say I "enjoy" the flights since they have you cramped like Sardines, but if you're just looking for a cheap domestic flight to get from Point A to Point B they're usually the most cost-effective option.

Honestly I don't mind cheap no frills airlines, as long as its safe I'm all for them.

Spirit seats are bigger than American and let’s be clear, they all small as shyt to me. I only travel with a book bag so I don’t care about being charged extra for additional carry ons because most airlines do as well except southwest. It’s just enforced on Spirit.
