So this is what the competition is like? I thought I was gonna get one of them scrubs with the laffy taffy beats. Dude has good music.
May the best man win.

Sorry, but both of these beats are just long melodic sample's with simple beat patterns looped over it. (Obviously some chopping going on, but still.)
No hate intended, but I felt like I have heard 5,000 producers make both of these beats before.
I choose not to vote.
Good luck gentlemen!
That's fair. That's why I asked Rod what the criteria was. Its so hard to judge beats. Some of the best beats of all time are simple loops.
Personally, I have over 200+ beats sitting on my hd. Of all types too. Its kinda hard to pick one and put it out there for others to vote on. But I respect and appreciate any feedback.

I 'preciate all that. To each his own, I think like duke said there are no criteria for the first two rounds so it was hard to kinda know what to put down. Usually in beat battles, first round, im trying to throw down something big movie type shyt to get em going.
naw you never told me i was in i fiugured nobody dropped outYo Zoneout do I have your beat
i got one of many for you thonaw you never told me i was in i fiugured nobody dropped out

still back to the question I asked you when you suggested this...how would we know that it's 100% sample free?? It's VERY easy to hide samples now.THis right here is why I suggested a non-sample 100% original composition round...

That sounds like a round for the later stages...I think by that time all the sample one trick ponies will be weeded out already anyway. It's Alot easier to spot out a sample than you're making it seem tho..if I had a list of the top 100 tracks out right now, I'd be able to tell which ones used a sample and which ones didn't.
We're all producers here..we can tell if somebody uses a sample...
a phenomenal piano melody that just loops the whole time with no extra keys being played? Probably a sample..
If we do have a non-sample round, maybe a requirement would be that the beat submitted must have a significant breakdown (whether its in the intro, transition, or outro) to prove it was an original composition. Simple drums loops (kicks, hi hats and snares) should be able to be used tho since just about every drum sound is a sample anyway.
