How?

I need to start backing up my files

Harddrive completely failed. I got impatient and reformatted thinking i could just recover the data. Forgot the drive was encrypted. My last backup of music files and samples was 2011. Im trying not to think about it. I only had a few classics during that time though so im not too mad. If my production had been as high as it was in previous years i probably would have been more concious about reformatting it. O well. I held my son and i felt better.

to get used to backing up files you have to make it a routine

once a month is a good practice
I know it feels like a chore, but it saves you if something is ever to happen.

Try taking the drive to best buy and see if they can recover the files for you.
The geek squad really works.

I had a similar episode. lost most of my new flps I made in the last 2 months since my dumb ass didn't knowing deleting the sliced beats was akin to literlaly getting rid of the samples in the songs :sadcam:

luckily I backed up my work a few months ago so not all was lost :whew:

listen to somebody friends, its a harrowing experience.
