The tunnel should also have a "who ripped that beat the best" battles for rappers or ppl who wanna rap for fun/get practice.

It might not be enough ppl tho and i know its extra work but it could be kinda interesting


i do see threads every now and then with ppl posting verses and wanting feedback on how they can improve flow and rhymes..just a thought

give ppl a snippet of a beat, maybe 45secs to a minute and have em go in over it they can work out some ideas they wanna try but keep it short so its not a full song or anything

hell i'll even drop verses lol just give ppl a topic and a beat...

This a great idea but,......

Most nikkas just come in and drop a verse here or there and bounce. They don't stick around to comment on other nikkas songs/beats like that to show that a vibe can really get going. With the amount of nikkas that rap on the coli, you would think more would fukks with the tunnel and provide feedback on shyt since production is pretty much the 2nd most important aspect of emceeing and song making, but

It's also funny you mention that idea because I actually approached the homie bigrod several months ago with something similar to that whereas we would have pairs of coli producers/coli emcees construct songs together that fit a particular theme similar to how themes were used in the beat tourney and cats would vote on which collab made the best songs. Kinda like seeing if Mannie Fresh and Juvie could make a better club record than say a Neptunes and Jay-z for an example. It would focus on chemistry and creativity and we'd prolly get some dope records out of it, but we pretty much came to the conclusion that it would start off strong and then fizzle out shortly due to lack of interest and participation. It's just the way shyt is. Maybe it can change in the future.

Exactly, thats the kinda shyt i was thinking too. Theres already mad beats dropped in here and a lot of dope ones too. I feel like working battles out like you mentioned (by pairing producers and rappers) could be a way for ppl to experiment with different styles and see which shyt hits. Who knows maybe there could be a really dope pairing and the 2 would work even more together on future projects if they really feel the shyt they made in the battle.

Hell if i was a rapper i would be checking the tunnel daily for beats i like and messaging ppl trying to get on the beats i like. This may happen every once in a while, but for a hip hop board i think it could happen even more often. To me working with a bunch of different styles/ppl only helps you find your sound and what you like best..and there is a ton of ppl and styles right here in this subforum

I think it could be beneficial to both the rapper and the producer. Sometimes you hear a beat and you think ehh idk if it has that energy, when all it really needs is someone to go in over it and make it come all together. And sometimes rappers are flat out messing with the wrong beats that dont even fit their style and its tough for them to find their shyt. Or maybe they wanna drop verses over original instrumentals instead of going in on a beat that is on the radio already but they dont have a producer to make beats for them like that in their area.

but like you said the only thing would be consistency and ppl keep coming back to put forth the effort..
