Yeah, Im confused too. Why not just make it straight RnB, any era.
Pretty much. You can add what you want, but the sample parts must be noticeable.
Flip a 90's rnb track. For example, you can chop vocals up or the take bass groove and build on it.
I want to limit the variation and see what you guys can pull off.
If you need some ideas or direction let me know.
