It doesn't matter what their motivations are. They are instituting a fundamental shift in our social order with this uprising, and I find it pathetic that black people, after seeing the repeated murder of our people by these death squads, had to rely on white communist agitators to spark a revolution. Either way, we're not returning to the status quo after this, so I'm grateful to these anarchists for what they've done.

Except for the fact that those very draconian oppressive policing methods that they are fighting against were set into motion by the White people. So they should be the ones that tear that shyt down. It was White people talking about the stupid war on drugs that led to the militarization of the police that gave rise to this shyt.

SOHH Class of 2006
Working class solidarity is needed, no doubt. Black people literally cannot do it alone. Always first act in a way to promote uplifting black people, but then remember there is a legitimate class war brewing and when it comes to that shyt, a lot of us are all in this together.

I live in Toronto but got fam in River North that I usually visit every summer. Most of my time is spent downtown but when I leave that area it feels like night and day. Chicago has a lot of nice architecture but I feel like y'all have a lot more extremes than us.

Chicago does have more extremes due to direct city disinvestment, but what's in the middle, pound for pound, aesthetically, Toronto can't compare. My mom's family came to Chicago from Ontario so I'm in Toronto to visit every few years. The thing about Chicago is that, more than any other city, including NYC, Chicago plans with "asthetics" first in mind. Spacing, presentation, cohesiveness, etc. "Asthetics" historically had been a "finishing touch" for most other cities. Its apparent Toronto falls under that as well. Not sure what other neighborhoods you visit but River North is bland, it's not even a neighborhood I would recommend if you wanted to see good architecture.

Chicago has a lot of very nice neighborhoods. Even some of the slums has decent housing, but you just can not live in some spots due to the gangs (whether the gangs are of street or pig variety).
All of the housing is beautiful in Chicago :yeshrug:

even in the deepest hoods of Chicago you have beautiful brick homes with hardwood floors and large rooms. Lot of old heads still take care of the property too.
